The Washington State Urology. Society introduced its first podcast in 2019 "The Original Guide to Men's Health" which was an audio version of its printed Guide to Men's Health from a decade prior. It is part of the WSUS community outreach to educate, engage and inform the general public on health issues of importance not only to men but other members of their families. It is hosted by Richard Pelman, MD.
March 2022 was the launch of the WSUS second podcast "Healthcare Coup" that is hosted by Una Lee, MD. It was created as a response to the growing burnout rate among urologists (48% reported feeling burned out last year according to a survey of 13,000 physicians by Becker's Hospital review). Exceptionally striking is the statistic that burnout in female physicians may be up to 60% greater than that of male physicians, with women scoring higher for emotional exhaustion and men scoring higher for depersonalization according to frontiers.
